8.28.03
Tonight's pick is truly for entertainment purposes only. It is for those fans that are looking to squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of the 2003 season. The last 48 hours of preseason are always the most challenging. It has been a fun ride since the Hall of Fame lightning storm threw us some magic.

As impressive as New England's defense has been this preseason was St. Louis' awe inspiring performance at home against the World Champion Bucs in Week 2. There is no reason to believe that same Ram team will not arrive tonight for its home crowd; improving on their 4-1 record ATS over the last 5 preseason contests versus the Chiefs. Agreeing with Madden and Michaels, the battle tonight between Vermeil and Martz will definitely have regular season fireworks. With the welcome return of OT Orlando Pace, the Rams' quarterbacking trio of Warner, Bolger, and Farmer, all of whom are rated 84.8 or higher, should be able to avoid the 11 sacks, and numerous penalties that have plagued their progress; allowing them even more time to using receiving weapons like the NFL's #4 receiver Kevin Curtis, who is averaging 19.4 yards per catch. Some would make the same case for Kansas City's Trent Green and Todd Collins, who both have achieved ratings about 100 this fair preseason using Boerighter, Horn, and Morton, who have run up 18 points per game through a 6.8 per yard pass average. Tonight they will be slowed by the Rams, who have containged opposing air attacks to a 55.8% completion percentage, and 180 yards per game; like Johnson, the defense should be able to suffocate Green from the opening whistle. The other key to this one will be running attack. With both coaches smelling the regular season around the corner, and Vermeil on his heels due to the unforseen Gonzalez injury, the rejuvenated Rams running attack of Jordan (48 yards per game in his two performances), Faulk (43 yards in his singular performance), and Harris, who is averaging about 33.7 yards per game should be the difference. With the Rams tendency to take a lead into the locker room at halftime this preseason, the defense should be able to earn a victory again capitilizing on the Chiefs' habit of turning the ball over (averaging over 3 turnovers per game in the last two preseason games versus the Rams).
ST. LOUIS -3

8.27.03
Reflecting their former Super Bowl style, few teams have performed this preseason like the undefeated Patriots (3-0); closing 2003 with a face-off with the Bears, who are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Road preseason games. While fans in Soldier Field are excited with Stewart's potential, the air attack has only produced 173 yards per game thus far. The Bears' offense has sputtered averaging only 7.7 first half points on 14 first downs per game (only Forsby (who?) on the rushing radar); combined with their tendency to turn the ball over has spelled disaster. While Urlacher's defense should keep games within reach during the regular season, the Bears' limited depth allows preseason games to slip away in the second half. Interesting is Chicago's failure to be able to beat opponents SU that average less than 4.75 per play (0-5 since '93) - 'Trouble' considering that the Pats are currently averaging 4.6 per game. The Bears are also 0-2, 1-7 over the last decade SU when playing on the 6 days or less rest. Having continued to shine in Philadelphia, the Pats 'D' has continued to dominate by limiting opponents to only 5.3 points in the first half; slowing opposing rushing attacks to 3.4 yards per play. The NFL's #8 defense (only 263.3 yards sacrificed per game) is winning games by dominating on third downs; leading the NFL with only a 29.5% conversion rate. The Pats streak of 5 SU victories in Home preseason games, and 9-11 SU victories in non-conference games should roll on this evening. Maximizing every advantage that his 'D' has offered up has been Brady, the NFL's #5 quarterback thus far (114.2 rating), who has been one on the busiest, averaging 100 yards per game, and a league leading 5 touchdown throws. Not only has Faulk and Smith shined thus far, but Patrick Pass has been rollin' with 34.3 yards per game. With Stewart's performances barely on the radar, Chandler's experience may keep them close for a moment. However, the lack of a Bears' running attack will leave the Past undefeated.
New England -5

Good Luck!

RICH GREEN

8.29.03
2** Under 38.5 Total Points, Cincinnati at INDY
(NFL Pre-Season, 8 et)

8.27.03
2** Chicago +5.5 Over NEW ENGLAND
(NFL Pre-Season, 8 et)

We are looking forward to a great Gold Key NCAA Football, NFL and Baseball weekend! Here is today's Free release on the NFL Pre-Season.

The Bears of the NFC North under fifth season Head Coach Dick Jauron finished last season at 4-12 Straight Up, and 5-11 Against The Spread. They look to improve on both sides of the ball this year. The Bears have not covered their first three Exhibition events. But this game might be closer than expected this evening, as it is the final Pre-Season game for the Bears before their September 7 regular season opener.

The Patriots of the AFC East under fourth year Head Coach Bill Belichick finished last season at 9-7 Straight Up, and 6-9 Against The Spread. Last season they suffered the usual setback for NFL teams after winning the Super Bowl in 2001. The Patriots are are 9-2 SU the past two plus Pre-Seasons under Coach Belichick. They won for Free Column Players here in their Exhibition Opener at Home over the Giants, then came back last week on the Road at the Redskins with another SU win as Dog. On Friday they won again for Free Column Players here. The Patriots have done well for us, but we will go against them tonight in a meaningless game.

The Line overnited at Patriots -5.5. We'll take those points and go with the Road Bears here tonight in a Don't Go Crazy Play. For those who don't know it, our Members rarely wager on the FREE release, and instead invest their money wisely on the Gold Key Plays. Visit us and check out the stronger Top Rated Gold Key Plays on site as well.
