In the early eighties I opened Better Bodies Gym in my hometown, New York City. My gym quickly attracted local bodybuilders, and I became an active participant in the birth of women's bodybuilding...In 1997 I picked up a camera for the first time since childhood and casually started to photograph the leading competitors in the bodybuilding and fitness world. My images are unguarded, honest, and voyeuristic. Whether they capture backstage scenes at the Ms. Olympia or private moments in a hotel room hours before the competitor steps on the stage, these images are imbued with an intimacy that has never been seen before.

Over the past 5 years he was able to free up some time to pursue his passion for photography. He has photographed well over 100 models, and has done multiple calendar shoots in Jamaica as well as Los Angeles. He has done printed Calendars for Fitness Model Melisa Ann and Calendars for TeaseUm.

Becoming the main photographer for Tease Um, a Lingerie/Bikini company out of Laguna Hills, California, and shoots for Raging Iron Choppers out of Manchester New Hampshire, custom Chopper builders, his main interest in photography is shooting swimsuit, glamour, and fitness.

Hi, I am Justine and I'm a photographer as well as a model. Although many of you know me from my modeling site, I have now ventured into photography. I've been shooting for just over two years and although I have gotten great reviews on my work I still have lots to learn. I only shoot women at this time. Its just a much easier process for me. Having been in front of the camera for 8 years now, I have a good understanding of what its like. I excel through creativity and shooting has been a platform to express some of that. Women are beautiful and I love to capture the sensuallity, femininity and eroticism of a women in my photos....I currently shoot Lingerie, Fashion, Glamour and Nudes. I use a Nikon D100.

Historically speaking, I've enjoyed photography since around 1989, shooting predominantly sporting events (and other photojournalistic pursuits) for the UCLA Daily Bruin newspaper. Shortly after my graduation from college (and coincidentally when Bruin staff press passes were no longer available) I began shooting portraits. But images of athleticism have always been my main interest. Combining the two, portraits and athletics, seemed to be the most natural progression of my pursuits. Only recently have I become very serious about concentrating all my efforts on developing my style in the genre of fitness photography.

I look at my photographic work in a similar light. It's a personal choice; a labor of love; it's my creative outlet. I enjoy the journey as much as the destination. It makes me feel proud when I see what I've created. If you're a fitness competitor yourself, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Over the past several years, Rob Sims has been one of the most published photographers in the world, shooting for publications on almost every continent. In the last two years, I have started two magazines of my own, becoming the only photographer in the world to own his own magazine(s). The first magazine is called "Fit Models International", which centers on glamour photography (a la Maxim/FHM/Stuff etc) of fitness models or very fit women in general. The other is Fit Body Magazine - a women’s' health and fitness magazine. I tell you this not to impress you, but to illustrate to you that I can guarantee a national publish (or international, in the case of Fit Models) to the models that work with us.
